About Me
Hey, it’s Gemma
I’m an award-winning London wedding photographer, capturing love stories all over the world.
Flea market hunter, rom-com watcher, spontaneous adventurer. Equally happy spending the day on the sofa with my wonderful partner, Neil, and our Cambodian street dog, Monkey, as I am day tripping to the beach and dancing all night! At the heart of it, I love finding beauty in unexpected places and experiencing everything there is to experience on our wonderful planet. I believe we should let ourselves truly feel all our emotions in order to have the most authentic human experience. Making art makes my heart sing and I am so grateful I get to create for a living. London is home, but I’m not-so-secretly dreaming of escaping to the coast for a slower pace of life. I’m a bit fanatic about travelling, especially to far-flung countries that thrust me out of my comfort zone. I once left for a six-month back-packing trip and came back five years later. I’ve lived on three continents and visited 36 countries. (So, needless to say, I’m absolutely HERE for your destination wedding plans!) I love cooking delicious food inspired by my travels...if you fancy letting me talk your ear off, ask me about my past-life owning a bar & restaurant in South-East Asia!
Telling stories through my camera is my calling. I started my career in photography as a photojournalist & travel photographer, I’ve worked on projects in Colombia, Kenya, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia. I have a degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the University of the Arts London.
My drive has always been to share with the world stories of incredible people doing incredible things. It’s the moments of raw human emotion that make a story. And that’s why I love photographing weddings. Documenting the vulnerable, joyful, passionate and tender moments of your wedding day so that your story is never forgotten.

The Experience
Guess what?
I hate having my photograph taken! And I hear you when you say you do too. But here’s the truth; it can be fun!
When I photograph you, I make images that FEEL like you. That capture those little things that make you a great couple. The way she makes you laugh, or the way he strokes your hair, how you respond to one another. My job is to observe the small things that make you an amazing couple and capture them on my camera. My approach is to give you very gentle direction to help put you at ease and bring out these beautiful interactions between the two of you.
I’ll never put you in high fashion poses. It’s just not my style. I want to make art that shows you how you are when you’re alone dancing in your kitchen, or snuggling on the sofa (minus the PJs, plus some epic wedding attire). I want to make you feel seen and celebrated, not moulded.
“Have a little look around. If you haven’t yet, explore my website and socials. Get a feel for who I am. If I sound like your kind of person and you love my photographs, it’s time to get in touch.
”
“We schedule a zoom call. I love hearing wedding plans! Whether you’ve only just begun, or its planned down to a T, I want to hear it all! This is where we can really start to get to know each other, and you can decide if I’m the right fit for your wedding.”
“Secure your date. I use a super simple online booking platform. We sign a contract, and you pay a 25% booking deposit, and the date is yours!”
“The engagement shoot! We get together in the run up to your wedding for a couples shoot at golden hour in London. This is a great opportunity for you to have a little practice in front of the camera, so you feel completely comfortable on your big day.”
“Planning. Eight weeks before your wedding I’ll send you a questionnaire to fill in with all the details of your day.”
“Final preparations. Four weeks before the day your final payment is due. This is also time for us to jump on another zoom call, to run through everything in your wedding questionnaire and answer any queries you have for me.”
“The big day! I’ll be there all day (or as booked) to capture every beautiful moment.”
“Sneak Peeks! Within 48 hours you’ll receive a mini online album with some highlights from the day.”
“Delivery. Within six weeks of your wedding, you’ll receive your full online wedding album.”
“Finishing touches. Now is the time to order any prints or wedding albums you’d like and leave me a review!”

The Investment
When you book with me you not only get a documentary wedding photographer, but also a friend to help guide you through the wedding process. I know wedding planning can be stressful, I know unexpected things can happen. Having worked alongside many brides and grooms over the years, I know that sometimes you need the advice of someone who has seen it all.
Gemma did a wonderful job photographing our wedding in September. We chose to have the day shot all on 35mm film with a mix of colour and black & white. Every shot was beautiful. Gemma's guidance leading up to the wedding and direction on the day was all really helpful and ensured everything went smoothly and we could fully relax.
BEN & ELEANOR
I offer both digital and analogue photography and would love to discuss the differences with you over a video call. They both have their advantages, and sometimes the best solution is a mix of the two. If that sounds right for you, any number of rolls of film can be added to the digital package.
I know not all weddings are the same, for destination weddings you may require multiple days coverage, whereas elopements and registry office weddings may require only a few hours. Flexible options are covered in my pricing guide, which you can request below. My couples typically invest £2000 - £2500 when booking their photography with me.
